Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer to lead a team in designing high‑voltage transmission systems for major utilities, including overhead and underground lines. The role combines leadership, client relations, and project management with a focus on innovation and grid modernization.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Mechanical engineering degree with 12+ years of relevant HV experience, PE registration, and proficiency in PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, FAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience in high voltage transmission design.
• Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE and/or FAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Work effectively in a team environment; can also work independently.

Responsibilities

• Convey clear expectations, goals, and vision.
• Manage the performance of direct reports.
• Mentor and coach staff; delegate project work.
• Manage collaboration and resolve conflicts to achieve results.
• Develop client relations and lead proposal development.
• Oversee project scope, performance metrics, and risk management.
• Apply standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC) in high voltage design.
