Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; degree preferred.
• 2+ years in a medical records setting; medical terminology required.
• Experience with FMLA and disability form completion preferred.
• Leadership skills demonstrated.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and meet deadlines.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• General computer proficiency: Word & Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask.
• Must type 50 wpm.
• Willingness to learn new equipment/processes quickly.
• Self-motivated, a team player with proven customer satisfaction skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process FMLA/Short Term Disability paperwork per guidelines.
• Communicate with patients and coordinators about disability paperwork in a patient-centered manner.
• Process medical record requests with HIPAA/HITECH compliance.
• Complete FMLA/Disability forms using standard responses.
• Enter data into secure processing platform and post-payment within turnaround times.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients.
• Provide onboarding and training to new employees.
• Produce periodic reporting as requested.
• Provide attention and care to patients and representatives.
• Comply with policies including HIPAA and labor laws.
• Handle confidential information with integrity.
• Support Forms/Release of Information and audit teams as needed.
