Ladders is seeking a Lead Engineer - Observability Platform for a healthcare-focused client. The role leads cloud-enabled scaling, reliability, and delivery excellence across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders.

You will architect and scale telemetry pipelines, drive OpenTelemetry adoption, and develop self-service observability for application teams. This remote US-based role offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• 5+ years with observability practices including SLIs/SLOs/SLAs.
• 5+ years building production-grade backend services in Go and/or Java.
• 5+ years implementing and operating OpenTelemetry.
• 5+ years with cloud-native platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate observability platform services using Go, Python, Java.
• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of OpenTelemetry and associated strategies.
• Architect and scale telemetry pipelines focusing on performance and reliability.
• Develop self-service observability capabilities for application teams.
• Define and implement monitoring standards for the observability platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish reliability standards.
• Automate operational workflows to enhance productivity.
