Job summary

CVS Health Enterprise Technology is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer for the Observability Platform. You will design, scale, and operate high-throughput telemetry pipelines across multi-cloud and datacenter environments.

You will mentor engineers, adopt OpenTelemetry, and collaborate with SRE, Platform, and Cloud teams to raise reliability and performance of the platform. Expect on-call rotations, incident response, and hands-on leadership to shape platform standards, tooling, and secure, scalable

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core observability platform services.
• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of OpenTelemetry and instrumentation patterns.
• Architect and scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces).
• Develop self-service observability capabilities for onboarding and troubleshooting.
• Implement end-to-end monitoring with SLOs and health checks.
• Collaborate with SRE, Platform, and Cloud teams on reliability standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident reviews.
• Automate workflows, CI/CD enhancements, and platform tooling.
• Ensure secure telemetry pipelines with mTLS and secret management.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and standards.
• Engage with internal teams to influence roadmap and platform improvements.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews and cross-team collaboration.
