Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a fast-paced team working on 46 kV–345 kV projects. This remote-based role in Michigan's Lower Peninsula involves site visits across the client's service territory and collaboration with multiple disciplines.

You will apply NESC, ASCE, and ACI standards, develop scopes and budgets, and prepare bidding documents, plans, and procurement packages while interfacing with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of transmission line design experience.
• Experience reviewing full transmission designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; procurement processes and project schedules.
• Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Able to work in a team and communicate with clients; some travel may be required.
• Program expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD Tools; Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design HV transmission lines for overhead and underground systems from 46 kV to 345 kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, drafts, plans, and specifications.
• Prepare material procurement and construction documents; interface with clients and project teams.
