Placements24 is seeking a Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to guide computational biology research remotely. You will develop tools and algorithms to analyze large genomic and proteomic datasets, identify insights, and advance drug discovery initiatives.

You will mentor a team of analysts, lead challenging projects, and present findings to teams and industry audiences, all within a fully remote setup that supports home offices and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of bioinformatics research with leadership experience.
• Expertise with large-scale data including NGS (WGS, WES, RNA-Seq).
• Proficiency in Python, R, Perl and command-line environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data analysis.
• Develop and apply statistical and ML methods to diverse biological datasets.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to interpret results.
• Manage computational infrastructure and data storage efficiently.
• Mentor junior bioinformaticians and data analysts for technical growth.
• Present findings to scientific teams and at industry conferences.
