Natera is seeking a Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to join the Oncology Bioinformatics team. Remote within the United States.

You will shape validation strategies for NGS assays, design feasibility and performance studies, and generate RWE to support therapy selection and patient management. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in bioinformatics (or related field) with 10+ years of post-graduate experience, or PhD with 5 years post-grad experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of bioinformatics tools for NGS, with emphasis on QC and variant calling.
• Experience with WES/WGS/targeted sequencing and somatic variant calling on these data.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analytical validation strategy for an NGS-based assay, including designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting studies with bench scientists and biostatisticians.
• Drive real-world evidence studies demonstrating clinical utility for therapy selection and patient management, from cohort selection through plasma mutation analysis.
• Build rapid prototypes and pipelines for multi-product data integration.
• Develop algorithms and tools to support new products and production bioinformatics pipeline.
• Act as internal technical consultant on bioinformatics methods for other teams.
• Collaborate with assay development, engineering, biostatistics, clinical, regulatory, and lab operations teams.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions, clinical study reports, and publications.
