Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking an Application Engineering Manager for Electrification Services (ELSE) to lead the U.S. Application Engineering organization in support of Commercial Operations and Sales teams.

You will drive customer-focused technical solutions, ensure high-quality statements of work and job cost estimates, and develop a high-performing team of Application Engineers to meet growth objectives. The role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration with Proposal Management,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required and 12+ years relevant work experience.
• Ability to travel up to 25% within US.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in application engineering or field engineering in power delivery products and systems including experience with customer engagements in relevant sectors.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed technical teams strongly preferred.
• Experience with proposal development, statement of work creation, job costing, and commercial operations processes.
• Background in field service, power systems engineering, or industrial electrical services.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Application Engineering team by setting clear performance expectations and coaching.
• Provide technical leadership and customer solution support across the ELSE portfolio, including strategic customer engagements and site assessments.
• Drive proposal excellence and operational effectiveness by ensuring high-quality SOWs and JCEs, and by improving inquiry-to-order processes.
• Standardize and continuously improve engineering processes and capabilities through KPI management and training programs.
