Intermountain Health is seeking a Laboratory Genetic Counselor to support Select Health contract work and the Genetic Laboratory Stewardship Program. The role involves counseling, educating providers, and performing utilization review for genetic testing across remote/hybrid settings.

The position can be fully remote, hybrid, or in-person, with a 40-hour workweek and a salary range reflected in the posted hourly rate. A video interview via Teams is required, plus potential onsite meetings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
• Eligibility for ABGC certification at hire; certification required within one year.
• Licensed as a Genetic Counselor in Utah; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience reading scientific literature; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review genetic testing pre-authorizations, appeals, and coverage policies.
• Educate providers on genetic testing options, insurance, billing, and results.
• Provide patient education and counseling on genetic test options or results.
• Conduct utilization review to ensure proper test ordering and manage complex cases.
• Participate in research projects and prepare manuscripts for journals.
• Communicate clearly with providers and patients; participate in peer reviews.
