Job summary

Cartwheel is a startup-like company delivering school-centered mental health support. As a Mental Health Therapist, you’ll work with school staff, students, and families in Cartwheel’s partner districts via teletherapy, contributing to stronger school-based mental health systems.

The role is a 1099 Independent Contractor, 100% remote in the U.S., with rolling start dates from September 2026. Rhode Island licensure is required and prior telehealth experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active license in Rhode Island to deliver mental health care (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PhD/PsyD).
• Experience with teletherapy using Zoom and digital tools.
• Minimum two years of delivering mental health services to children/youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health assessments and teletherapy to PreK-12 students and school staff in partner districts.
• Participate in case discussions with Cartwheel team.
• Support transitions to community care providers for students and families.
• Build collaborative relationships with school leadership and staff; meet regularly to discuss needs and strategies.
• Provide clinical supervision to other care team members if qualified.
