Advocate Health is seeking an IT Internship participant to gain practical experience in HRIS and IT operations. The role focuses on IT configuration, support, and maintenance of applications to meet organizational needs.

The intern will liaise among clinical operations, IT, users and vendors to ensure smooth system operations. The internship runs May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027, is remote from home, and requires enrollment as a junior or senior in college with a 2.5+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as incoming junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks successfully.
• Strong teamwork, multitasking and prioritization skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Research unusual bugs or issues the company encounters.
• Support the IT team in hardware, software and system maintenance.
• Assist with conversions, updates and application recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment such as printers, computers and servers.
• Run software updates and backups as requested.
• Research hosting options and report pricing and options.
• Contribute to development of desktops, servers or applications.
• Assist with the call tracking system and document KPI.
