Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking an IT Category Manager to lead procurement for IT services and software, spanning the US and global supplier base. This role focuses on managing supplier relationships, contract lifecycle, and risk across IT needs.

The position is 100% virtual with an East Coast schedule (8am–5pm) and requires strong negotiation, cross-functional collaboration, and experience with SOWs and managed services agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Management, Economics or IT-related field.
• 7+ years in procurement, IT sourcing or related supply management roles.
• Experience overseeing IT services and supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of the IT marketplace and typical contracts/SOWs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with IT leadership to align procurement with business needs.
• Manage supplier portfolios, renewals, and third-party risk.
• Develop category strategies to control costs and ensure continuity.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and renewals with internal partners.
• Draft statements of work and ordering documents with vendors.
• Mitigate third-party risk with legal, risk, and IT governance teams.
• Collaborate with CIO and IT leaders on business cases and spend planning.
• Engage in SOBRA, TPRM, SAB, Risk Council, and P&L initiatives.
• Support procurement processes and contribute to performance improvements.
