Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking an IT Category Manager to lead strategic procurement for IT services and suppliers. This role spans the US with a 100% virtual/work-from-home setup and a fixed East Coast schedule (8am-5pm).

You will manage supplier portfolios, negotiate contracts, and drive category strategies to reduce costs and ensure continuity of IT services. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Finance/Supply Management/Economics/CS/IS and 7+ years in IT procurement or related

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related disciplines such as Finance, Supply Management, Economics, Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Supply Management, Procurement, or IT Business Office roles.
• Experience overseeing IT services and suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of the IT marketplace and industry norms.
• Experience with IT services agreements and statements of work.
• Strong negotiation skills with pay-for-performance models.
• Ability to lead cross-functional meetings and present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with IT Strategy and procurement leadership to align IT demands with business priorities.
• Manage a portfolio of suppliers, including contracts, renewals, and risk management.
• Develop and implement category strategies to control costs and ensure supply continuity.
• Negotiate supplier agreements in collaboration with GC, Risk, IT, and business clients.
• Draft and negotiate statements of work and ordering documents; add value to projects.
• Identify and mitigate third-party risks with internal compliance partners.
• Collaborate with CIO and IT leaders to inform business cases and procurement timelines.
• Engage in SOBRA, TPRM, SAB, Risk Council, and P&L improvement processes.
• Support diversity goals and communicate performance to leadership.
