The Advanced Level Medical Support Assistant (MSA) works with the healthcare team to deliver an interdisciplinary approach to care. Responsibilities include intake and indexing of health and administrative data, coordinating with VA and non-VA facilities, and ensuring accurate patient information is captured in the system.

The role requires strong scheduling abilities, coordination across disciplines, and clear communication with patients and care teams.

Qualifications

• One year of experience equivalent to GS-5
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Ability to manage clinic scheduling and patient flow
• Ability to coordinate with interdisciplinary care teams

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the patient care team to review clinic utilization and ensure clinic setup supports patient needs
• Manage appointments, scheduling, and patient wait lists; enter information into the electronic record
• Participate in team huddles and plan patient care; set priorities and deadlines
• Educate providers about shared patients and coordinate referrals and follow-up care
• Telework available; maintain flexible work schedules as needed
