Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Medical Support Assistant (MSA) to act as a Consult Coordinator for Community Care.

The role works with interdisciplinary health care teams and coordinates with VA and non-VA providers to ensure timely patient treatment. The MSA handles clerical duties, appointment scheduling, documentation in the CPRS system, and coordination of internal and external care across programs such as PACT and C&P.

Qualifications

• Clerical and scheduling experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Community Care processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appointment schedules for Community Care and coordinate with providers.
• Prepare required pre-appointment documents and document scheduling in consults.
• Obtain medical documentation and scan to CPRS; alert VA providers for continuity of care.
