Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to craft policy language for new states and products. You will own form drafting for your line and advise on regulatory interpretation, while serving as a backup for the other line.

The role requires a JD and 5+ years of policy form drafting, with experience across multiple states. You will directly influence filing readiness and statutory compliance in a remote-first environment spanning 35+ states.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and bar admission
• 5+ years of policy form drafting experience or equivalent
• Experience drafting personal auto or property forms across multiple states
• Ability to translate statutes into policy language

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and draft compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to regulator objections and advocate Kin's position.
• Provide coverage interpretation guidance to internal teams.
• Draft state and product forms packages for filing.
• Review forms and escalate novel state-law questions.
• Maintain countrywide base forms and state kits.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms.
• Backup drafter for the other line of business.
• Identify legal risks in product designs early.
• Review AI-assisted drafts for regulatory compliance.
• Update forms in response to statutes and DOI bulletins
