This remote position handles insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and appeals with payers, ensuring timely, accurate processing and complete documentation. Responsibilities include following up on approvals/denials, calculating patient out-of-pocket costs, obtaining referrals, and coordinating with patients and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and insurance plans.
• Proficient with MS Office and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Submit PA requests and appeals to insurance payers with timely processing.
• Follow up on PA requests and appeals with payers to obtain decisions.
• Review approval and denial letters to determine next steps.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and determine primary coverage.
• Coordinate with patients and teams, providing updates on insurance matters.
• Calculate out-of-pocket costs for patients with authorization.
• Obtain Single Case Agreements when needed and follow up with insurers.
• Obtain HMOs referrals from providers.
• Document activities in CRM and maintain complete notes.
• Manage a balanced caseload to meet organizational goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for alignment.
