Mindful Therapy Group, a nationwide behavioral health services provider, seeks an experienced claim specialist to resolve complex insurance balances, denials, and processing issues across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers. This remote role emphasizes ownership of claims from denial to final resolution.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of hands-on A/R follow-up, payer outreach, portal research, and documentation within an EHR. We offer benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of direct medical insurance A/R follow-up and claim-resolution experience in a healthcare billing environment.
• Hands-on experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed Medicaid claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication with payer representatives, providers, and internal teams.
• Experience with an EHR or practice-management system, payer portals, clearinghouse tools, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and documentation habits.

Responsibilities

• Independently work outstanding insurance A/R, focusing on denied, rejected, and aged claims (120+ days).
• Analyze denial reason codes, payer correspondence, eligibility and benefits information, and authorization requirements.
• Submit and track corrected claims, reprocessed claims, reconsiderations, appeals, and documentation submissions.
• Navigate payer portals and communicate with payer representatives to obtain claim status and resolution commitments.
• Communicate claim status and actions to providers and internal partners in a clear, professional manner.
• Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately, aligned with remittance advice and outcomes.
• Maintain documentation in the EHR and tracking tools so teammates understand history and next steps.
