Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder for a remote position. You will assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures for complex inpatient discharges, determine POA values, and collaborate with the CDI team to ensure accurate MS-DRG/APR DRG outcomes.

Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and exceptional attention to detail are essential. You will work from a remote setting nationwide, supporting academic medical centers with a focus on high-quality

Qualifications

• 3+ years inpatient coding experience in an Academic Medical Center or similar setting.
• Current CCS, CIC, RHIA, or RHIT certification.
• Excellent computer and communication skills for interactions with providers and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Follow client SOPs and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures for complex inpatient cases.
• Assign POA values for secondary diagnoses for quality metrics and reporting.
• Review provider notes and CDI input to ensure accurate coding.
• Utilize 3M 360 CAC and autosuggestion to select codes efficiently.
• Review discharge planning and nursing documentation to validate Discharge Disposition impacts on Medicare reimbursement.
• Collaborate with CDI on discharge diagnoses and DRG determinations; educate on coding guidelines.
