Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder for a remote position available to applicants nationwide. The coder will assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures for complex inpatient discharges, review CDI input, and ensure compliance with Official Guidelines.

Qualifications

• Three years of inpatient medical coding experience in an Academic Medical Center.
• Current CCS, CIC, RHIA, or RHIT certification.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Follow client SOPs and guidelines for coding conventions.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes for complex inpatient discharges.
• Apply Present on Admission (POA) values for quality metrics.
• Review provider notes and CDI input to determine accurate diagnoses.
• Utilize 3M 360 CAC and autosuggestion features for coding.
• Educate CDI on regulatory guidelines and Coding Clinic conventions.
• Write appeal letters in response to payor DRG notices.
