Job summary

Pena4 Inc is hiring an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) to code inpatient and outpatient accounts. The role is 100% remote, full-time, with required 5+ years IP PCS coding experience and CCS credential. OP coding is a plus. Start date is immediate, and a coding assessment may be required.

Strong experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and coding references is expected, along with expertise in Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC systems. Join a dedicated coding team and support DRG accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IP PCS coding experience required
• CCS credential required
• 3+ years outpatient coding preferred
• Immediate start date

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures to maintain high accuracy
• Pursue optimal DRG assignments with system assistance
• Maintain consistent productivity and quality levels
• Reach out to staff or leadership for additional information as needed
• Stay current on coding guidelines and share updates with colleagues
• Complete assignments as directed by management
• Pursue continuing education opportunities
• Collaborate with team to meet client goals
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned
