Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for 100% remote, full-time work. Requires at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and a CCS certificate.

Must be proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and have experience with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC. Immediate start with a coding assessment. Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience
• CCS certification required
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding
• Experience with major EHR systems listed (Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, EPIC)

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with computer-assisted guidance
• Maintain productivity and quality at a consistent level
• Escalate for additional information for accurate code/DRG assignments as needed
• Keep current on coding guidelines and share updates with colleagues
• Complete all assignments as directed by management
• Pursue continuing education opportunities in coding
• Collaborate as part of a team to meet client goals
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned
