Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote role. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and 3 years OP coding preferred, with CCS certification as a must. Start date is immediate and a coding assessment will be required.

The role requires strong ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS knowledge and experience with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC systems. Excellent accuracy and DRG optimization are essential.

Competenze

• Requires CCS certification and at least 5 years of inpatient PCS coding experience.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, and CPT coding references.
• Experience with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC systems is required.
• W2 regular employment; 100% remote; start date immediately.

• Review complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign accurate diagnoses and procedures; maintain high coding accuracy.
• Strive for optimal DRG assignments with system support and auditing.
• Maintain consistent productivity and quality levels in daily work.
• Request additional information from staff or physicians as needed for accuracy.
• Keep coding knowledge current with literature and guidelines.
