Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time W2 role. Requires 5+ years IP PCS coding and 3+ years OP coding; CCS certification is mandatory. Start date is immediate, with a coding assessment test to complete.

Responsibilities include accurate record review, DRG optimization, and ongoing education. Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC systems experience preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years IP PCS coding experience.
• At least 3 years OP coding experience preferred.
• CCS certificate is required.
• Remote, full-time W2 position with weekday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy and consistency.
• Obtain optimal DRG assignments with system assistance.
• Maintain steady productivity and coding quality.
• Hold accounts for missing information and escalate as needed.
• Stay current on coding guidelines and share insights with colleagues.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Collaborate with team to meet client goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
