Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote role in the United States. The position requires 5+ years of IP PCS coding experience and CCS certification, with 3 years of outpatient coding preferred.

This W2 regular employment expects day-shift, full-time hours and strong adherence to coding accuracy. You will work with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC systems to assign DRGs and ensure compliant ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of inpatient PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.
• At least 3 years of outpatient coding experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Examines the complete medical record to determine principal & secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Accurately sequences diagnoses & procedures, maintains 95% accuracy.
• Strives to obtain optimal DRG assignments on each record coded with computer assistance.
• Maintains a consistent level of productivity and quality.
• Holds accounts when more information is required for accurate code/DRG assignment and consults staff as needed.
• Keeps current on coding guidelines and shares updates with colleagues.
• Completes all assignments as directed by management.
• Seeks continuing education and professional development.
• Works as a team member to meet department goals.
• Performs related duties or special projects as assigned.
