Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) to join our remote compliance team. The role focuses on inpatient and outpatient coding, using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG assignments, with a goal of 95% accuracy and timely submissions.

Requirements include 5+ years IP PCS experience, CCS certification, 3+ years OP preferred, and immediate start with testing. 100% remote, weekdays, full-time. System experience: Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, EPIC.

Qualifications

• Five years of inpatient PCS coding experience required.
• CCS certification required.
• Three years of outpatient coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with computer-assisted review.
• Maintain productivity and coding quality.
• Coordinate with staff for information needed for accurate coding.
