Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote role. Requires at least 5 years IP PCS coding and CCS certification, with 3+ years OP experience preferred. Schedule is weekdays with full-time hours and day shift.

Immediate start; coding assessments will be required. The coder will document and code inpatient and outpatient accounts using ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS CPT, and other references to ensure accurate DRG assignments and coding accuracy.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and PCS and CPT coding.

Responsibilities

• Examines the complete medical record to determine diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Accurately sequences diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy.
• Aims for optimal DRG assignments with computer support.
• Maintains consistent productivity and quality levels.
• Holds accounts when more information is needed for accurate codes/DRG.
• Keeps current on coding guidelines and shares updates.
• Completes assignments as directed by management.
• Seeks continuing education opportunities.
• Works as a team to meet client goals.
• Performs related duties or special projects as assigned.
