Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time position. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years IP PCS coding experience, CCS certification, and may have OP experience. Start date is immediate, with a coding assessment required to be considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years inpatient PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification is required.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures; maintain high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with computer-assisted support.
• Maintain consistent performance, productivity and quality.
• Request additional information when needed for accurate coding.
• Stay current on coding guidelines and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
