Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder to interpret health record documentation and assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for complex inpatient discharges. You will leverage 3M 360 CAC and CDI collaboration to ensure accurate MS/DRG reporting.

The role requires three years of inpatient coding experience in an Academic Medical Center and active CCS/CIC/RHIA/RHIT certification, with excellent communication skills for provider interactions.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in an Academic Medical Center with inpatient coding.
• Current CCS, CIC, RHIA or RHIT certification.
• Strong computer and communication skills for provider and staff interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for complex inpatient discharges.
• Review provider notes and CDI insights to ensure accurate coding.
• Collaborate with CDI on discharge planning and DRG determinations.
• Write appeal letters in response to payor DRG downgrades.
