Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to interpret health record documentation and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for complex inpatient discharges. You will work with clinical documentation and coding clinics to ensure accuracy and proper reimbursement.

The role requires three years of inpatient coding experience, CCS certification, and the ability to collaborate with CDI on discharge coding decisions while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Three years' inpatient coding experience required.
• Current CCS, CIC, RHIA, or RHIT certification.
• Excellent computer and communication skills for provider and staff interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures for complex inpatient discharges.
• Review provider notes and CDI input to ensure accurate coding.
• Apply MS-DRG/APR-DRG logic and guidelines for proper reimbursement.
• Write appeal letters in response to payor DRG downgrades.
• Meet coding productivity and quality standards.
