Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to interpret health records and assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures for complex inpatient discharges. The role requires reviewing provider notes, applying Coding Clinic guidelines, and collaborating with CDI for accurate MS/DRG outcomes.

Qualifications

• Three years of inpatient coding experience in an Academic Medical Center.
• CCS, CIC, RHIA or RHIT certification is required.
• Strong computer and communication skills for interactions with providers and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and adherence to client SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures for complex inpatient discharges.
• Review provider notes and CDI input to determine principal and secondary codes.
• Utilize 3M 360 CAC for efficient code assignment and annotation.
• Validate discharge disposition affecting Medicare reimbursement.
• Sequence codes with MS-DRG/APR-DRG knowledge for accurate reimbursement.
• Collaborate with CDI on discharges and educate on coding guidelines.
