Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Audit Specialist to conduct inpatient coding audits and educate coders, ensuring accurate DRG/APC assignments. This role is fully remote with a flexible schedule and focuses on regulatory alignment, documentation improvement, and collaboration with client facilities.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of inpatient coding and auditing experience, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and familiarity with EMR, encoder, and auditing software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience coding and auditing.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in AHIMA HIM or Nursing; CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient coding audits using ICD-10-CM, CPT for DRG/APC assignment.
• Review non-CC/MCC records for proper coding and documentation needs.
• Provide coder education through audits.
• Prepare preliminary results for facility CCS HIM director.
• Address disagreements on APC/DRG changes with management.
• Prepare final audit reports and resolve findings.
• Stay current with regulatory changes.
• Organize multiple cases for workflow efficiency.
