Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to support coding quality, compliance reviews, and payer audits. This remote role offers flexible scheduling and potential PRN IA IP auditing support; spinal experience and 20 hours/week are a plus.

You will audit inpatient facility coding using MS DRG/APR DRG frameworks, justify changes with detailed rationale, and stay current with industry regulations while educating fellow coders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification is required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work.
• Provide concise rationale for changes with references and documentation locations.
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organize and prioritize multiple cases for turnaround time.
• Educate coders through the auditing process.
• Adhere to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Maintain professional, flexible and dependable conduct.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
