Job summary

Datavant is hiring an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to conduct facility coding audits, provide detailed rationale for changes, and stay current with regulatory updates. The role supports onboarding and SLA reviews, offering remote work with a flexible schedule.

PRN auditing support and spinal experience are a plus, with a preference for 20 hours/week. You will work across MS DRG/APR DRG frameworks, ensuring high accuracy and delivering coder education while maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS is required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides rationale with references and documentation locations for changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes multiple cases to optimize workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education via auditing process.
