Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to support coding quality, compliance reviews, and payer audits. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule, including potential PRN support for IA IP auditing. The candidate will deliver detailed rationale for changes and stay current with regulatory updates.

Requirements include 5+ years inpatient coding/auditing experience and CCS certification. Epic and Cerner proficiency are expected; 20 hours/week PRN flexibility is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy.
• CCS certification required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides concise rationale with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes and deadlines.
• Organizes multiple cases to optimize workflow and turnaround time.
• Educates coders through the auditing process.
• Works professionally, efficiently, and positively.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer-service focus and professionalism.
• Handles high complexity in decision making.
• Exhibits strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
