Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to lead coding quality reviews, education, and outsourced payer reviews. This remote role offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to influence healthcare outcomes from your home workspace.

You will perform inpatient facility coding audits, provide detailed rationale, stay current with regulations, and collaborate with teams to improve accuracy and workflows. PRN support and spinal experience are a plus, ~20 hours/week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work using appropriate DRG assignment.
• Provides rationale with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes multiple cases to optimize workflow and turnaround.
• Educates coders via the auditing process.
• Maintains professional, efficient, and positive conduct.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer-service focus, flexibility, dependability, and eagerness to learn.
• Handles high-complexity tasks and decision making.
• Exhibits strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
