Job summary

Datavant is a remote-friendly team focused on healthcare data collaboration. We seek experienced inpatient coders to join as a key part of our coding leadership, ensuring high accuracy and compliance across patient records.

You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, supervise Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable, drive documentation improvement, and maintain production benchmarks while collaborating with hospital staff and management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Accurately sequence and abstract codes from patient records
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Uphold 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff
