Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join our remote team. You will assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, ensure accurate sequencing, and audit coders when needed.

This role emphasizes precise documentation and collaboration across hospital staff to support compliant reimbursement. The position requires at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with accuracy.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
