Datavant, the data collaboration platform for healthcare, seeks experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract records, and ensure high accuracy while collaborating with hospital staff on documentation and reimbursement issues.

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience and AHIMA credentials (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred). We offer comprehensive benefits and a flexible, fully remote schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records, ensuring precision and adherence to documentation.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues, facilitating resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Uphold an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% accuracy rate for MS-DRG assignments.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff, while addressing clinical and reimbursement issues.
