Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team, ensuring high-precision coding of medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS. You will oversee coding accuracy, mentor junior coders, and collaborate with hospital staff.

The role emphasizes strong terminology knowledge, meticulous documentation, and clear verbal/written communication. This remote position offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for professional growth within healthcare data collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders when applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Meet site-specific productivity benchmarks and communicate with stakeholders.
