Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, accurately abstract patient records, and help ensure documentation integrity from your home workspace.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, and you will participate in audits, maintain productivity benchmarks, and

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Abstract medical codes from patient records accurately and maintain documentation.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Uphold 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
