Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote, flexible schedule role. You will apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding to patient records, maintain high accuracy, and oversee junior coders as needed.

The position emphasizes documentation improvement and collaboration with hospital staff to support accurate reimbursements. Ideal candidates have 3+ years inpatient coding, AHIMA/CCS RHIT RHIA credentials, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Uphold 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Collaborate with hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues
