Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Inpatient Coder for hospital coding across diverse services. This remote US role requires strong inpatient coding experience and credentialed expertise in ICD-10/PCS to ensure compliant, timely coding for Medicare and non-Medicare accounts.

You will maintain high accuracy and productivity while adhering to facility policies, CDI processes, and re-bill workflows. A commissionable incentive may apply based on company policy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inpatient facility coding experience.
• Rehab inpatient facility coding experience with IRF/PAI admissions and discharges.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold one of the credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality hospital coding on inpatient accounts including Medicare/Non Medicare, Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, moms/babies, and trauma cases.
• Maintain a working knowledge of ICD-10-PCS, governmental regulations, official coding guidelines, and third-party requirements.
• Ensure that all services documented in the patient’s chart are coded with appropriate ICD-10/PCS codes.
• Follow facility policies and diagnosis/documentation standards; seek documentation when missing.
• Achieve and maintain 96% accuracy in coding while meeting productivity expectations (1 IP chart per hour).
• Answer physician/hospital coding/billing questions within eight hours of request.
