Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks an Inpatient Coder to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to inpatient records remotely.

You will ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer rules, and corporate standards while collaborating with CDI teams to optimize documentation and reimbursement. The role requires 1 year inpatient coding experience, familiarity with EHR systems, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in Health Information Management or related preferred.
• 1 year coding certification in HIM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remote inpatient coding for CHS-supported hospitals, reviewing EMR and provider documentation to assign accurate codes.
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, payer rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Submit queries to providers for documentation clarification when needed to ensure coding accuracy.
• Collaborate with CDI teams to ensure complete and compliant coding based on clinical documentation.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy benchmarks, aiming for high coding accuracy per corporate standards.
