Job summary

e4health is seeking an Inpatient Coder to accurately abstract data into client EMR systems, following ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, UHDDS, and CMS directives. This remote position requires 2+ years of inpatient coding in acute care and US experience, with a 95%+ accuracy rate and strong productivity expectations.

You will assign POA indicators, query physicians when needed, and collaborate with CDI and Revenue Cycle teams to resolve issues while maintaining credential requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a CCS (Certified Coding Specialist, with AHIMA)
• 2+ years of Inpatient coding in an acute care setting
• Must be proficient in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding
• 3+ years of experience coding within the US is required
• Experience with Cerner & Solventum is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient accounts as per designated workflow
• Abstracts and enters coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements
• Assigns present on admission indicators and discharge dispositions
• Queries physicians to clarify conflicting information when appropriate
• Communicates documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to appropriate personnel
• Communicates with CDI and Revenue Cycle teams for follow up and reconciliation
• Maintains required productivity and quality requirements
• Maintains coding credential requirements
