Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder for a remote role within our Appeals & Denials Department. The coder will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 codes on inpatient accounts to optimize billing, while ensuring compliance with State and Federal requirements.

Ideal candidates hold RHIT, RHIA or CCS credentials and have 3–5 years of inpatient coding experience, with strong knowledge of encoder software and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• RHIT, RHIA or CCS certification required for coding leadership.
• 3–5 years of inpatient coding experience in a hospital setting.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 coding as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Submit abstracted information to billing system for claims.
• Maintain coding accuracy to meet A/R goals daily.
• Consult with CDI/HIM and provide mentorship as needed.
• Utilize encoder and EHR systems efficiently.
