Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking an experienced Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department. This remote role requires expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding for inpatient accounts, with strong documentation and auditing skills.

Applicants should have RHIT, RHIA, and CCS credentials and 3–5 years of acute care coding experience. Must work from approved states and collaborate with CDI, HIM, and management to ensure accurate submissions.

Qualifications

• RHIT, RHIA, and CCS credentials required.
• 3–5 years acute care coding experience.
• 3–5 years coding knowledge in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 codes for inpatient accounts.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to the billing system for claim submission.
• Maintain accuracy to meet Coding A/R goals and post-bill denials as needed.
• Collaborate with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation.
• Mentor and assist Coders, CDI and other staff; support auditing and training.
