Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract records, and support QA on coding accuracy while meeting productivity benchmarks.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong written and verbal communication skills. This fully remote role offers flexible scheduling and a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records.
• Abstract medical records with accurate code sequencing.
• Audit and mentor Level 1 & 2 Coders when applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and MS-DRG accuracy.
• Meet site productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders.
