Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department at Baptist Metro Square. You will identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, apply CPT-4 codes for observations, and ensure accurate abstracting for billing.

With 3–5 years of coding experience and AHIMA credentials, you will collaborate with CDI/HIM leadership, mentor staff, and uphold coding accuracy to support timely, correct claims.

Qualifications

• RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification required.
• 3–5 years coding knowledge or experience.
• Inpatient coding credentialing and CPT/ICD coding proficiency expected.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts.
• Apply CPT-4 codes for applicable observation accounts.
• Submit abstracted data to billing for claims processing.
• Maintain coding accuracy to support AR goals and denials prevention.
• Collaborate with CDI, HIM, and management and provide mentorship.
