Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join our Appeals & Denials Department at Baptist Metro Square.

The coder will assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts and support billing submissions. The role requires RHIT/RHIA or CCS certification and 3–5 years of acute care coding experience, with strong attention to detail and effective communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in an acute care setting.
• 3–5 years coding knowledge in inpatient accounts.
• RHIT, RHIA or CCS certification required.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts.
• Apply CPT-4 coding on Observation accounts when applicable.
• Submit abstracted information to billing system for claim submission.
• Maintain 100% coding accuracy on discharged accounts daily.
• Work with ACHA, DNFB and Post Bill Error reports as applicable.
• Coordinate with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation.
